Community guidelines

This is a small scene and everybody here is somebody’s regular. The rules below are short because they mostly come down to one thing: what you learn about someone here stays here.

Consent and privacy are the house rules

• Do not screenshot, repost or forward who is going anywhere. Not to a group chat, not to a story, not to one friend. This is also in the terms, because it is the way people get outed.
• Do not tell anyone who you saw on Nightquest.
• Do not out anyone, ever, in any direction. Not their sexuality, not their gender, not their HIV status, not who they went home with, not that they were there at all.

Harassment, hate and threats

No harassment. No hate. No transphobia, racism, ableism, fatphobia, serophobia or fetishising. No sexual harassment. No threats. This applies to usernames and display names as much as to anything else.

Sex-positive and darkroom events

We list them, in full, because the scene is real and pretending otherwise makes it less safe rather than more. They sit behind an 18+ gate and they are tagged so you know what you are walking into.

Consent at the door and inside is the venue’s rules and the law. We list events; we do not run them.

Also no

• No under-18s.
• No impersonating a person, a venue or a party.
• No spam and no promotion.
• Do not add people you do not know. Friends see what you have saved. That is the whole point of the friends list, and it is why it should be people you would tell in person.

Reporting — the numbers, stated publicly

Every report goes to a real person. Reporting is open to every account regardless of whether you are paying — a safety control behind a paywall is not a safety control.

• Two independent reports hide the event or the profile straight away, before anyone has looked at it. On this product the cost of hiding something that turns out to be fine is much lower than the cost of leaving something up that is not.
• A person reviews every report within 24 hours and can put it back.
• One report per person per subject, so the count is a count of people rather than of clicks.
• Reports cannot be withdrawn. That is what keeps the record honest. You can still remove them by deleting your account, which deletes everything.

What hiding actually does — and what it does not

Hiding takes an event or a profile out of view while a person looks at it. It is not a ban and it is not a block. It is a pause, and a human decides what happens next.

If you need someone away from you, block them — do not rely on a report to do it. Blocking is immediate, it is yours, and it does not wait for anybody.

Blocking

• It takes effect immediately.
• They can no longer see what you have saved.
• They cannot find you by username or ask to be your friend again.
• Only you can undo it.
• We do not tell them. Nothing anywhere in the app shows a person that they have been blocked.
• Unblocking is a clean slate, not a reunion — being friends again takes a fresh request.

Appeals

If something of yours was hidden and you think that was wrong, email {{CONTACT_EMAIL}}. A person reads it and can restore it.

What we can and cannot do

We can warn you, hide a listing, hide an account, or remove an account.

We cannot see anything that happened somewhere else. There is no chat in Nightquest — none at all — so if something happened in a DM on another app, we have no record of it and cannot act on it directly. Report it there as well as here.
